A woman and her alleged lover were arrested in connection with the murder of her husband by Navi Mumbai Police in Airoli’s Yadav Nagar.
With the arrests, police have claimed to have solved a nearly 11-month-old blind murder case of Baliram Suryanath Kushwah (50), IANS reported.

The accused have been identified as Sunita Kushwah, 40, wife of Baliram, and Rahul Dashrath Prajapati, 30, a rickshaw driver from Ghansoli.
Sunita allegedly planned her husband’s murder with Rahul after Baliram objected to their relationship. At first, the two of them killed Baliram at this residence and later tried to conceal the crime by chopping his body into pieces and disposing of his remains in a forest area.
Calling the case as a blind murder, Senior Police Inspector Devidas Kathole of Rabale MIDC Police Station said that initially police did not find any direct evidence in the matter. They were able to crack the case only after getting technical evidence, call detail records (CDR) and interrogation of the suspects.
Talking about the case, police officials said that Baliram was staying with his wife and two children in Yadav Nagar. During this time, Sunita is believed to have developed a relationship with Rahul. However, Baliram soon got to know about their alleged love affair and started opposing it. Thereafter, the two of them decided to kill him.
The alleged crime took place on August 9 last year. At that time, Sunita reportedly sent her children to relatives’ house.
After killing Baliram at home, Sunita made all possible efforts to hide evidence and mislead the family and police. Post the incident, Sunita allegedly rented out their residence and started living with Rahul at his house in Ghansoli along with her children.
For several months, she told relatives that Baliram had left the house.
The matter came to light when a missing person’s complaint was registered at Rabale MIDC Police Station in April this year.
While investigating the matter, police found out that both the accused had changed their mobile phones and SIM cards. However, technical evidence, call records and discrepancies in their statements helped in cracking the case.
During questioning, both of them allegedly revealed details of the crime.
